In completing the application for Halal certification, you also need to give some thought to the countries where you intend exporting your products to. In some cases this may add additional steps to the audit and inspection requirements.
The certification process starts with completion of an expression of interest. We then send you an online application form that you’ll need to complete for your business. This will provide ICCV with a basic overview of the business and the Halal certification requirements.
In completing the application for Halal certification, you also need to give some thought to the countries where you intend exporting your products to. In some cases this may add additional steps to the audit and inspection requirements.
Here’s what the process looks like.
As Australia’s largest Halal certification body, ICCV has experience in Halal certification across many industries and products.
Complete the ICCV Application Form and lodge fully completed form to ICCV Office by email. If unsure or need to speak to someone please complete the enquiry form below.
The ICCV administration team will review your application, and may be in contact if further information is required.
ICCV will contact you and discuss the Halal certification process, the terms and conditions of Halal certification, and the fees involved.
You will be required to agree to and abide by terms and conditions, and remain up to date with the payment of the Halal certification fees.
Once you are fully signed up as a client of ICCV, your file will be managed by the inspection team. This will commence with an initial certification audit and site visit, where a comprehensive assessment will be made of your procedures, your production facilities and practices, as well as general organisational considerations in operating a food or food related business. It is essential that clients who are new to Halal certification, invest the time to ensure that they fully understand what is required.
Where non-conformances are identified, these will be highlighted and clients will be required to address these prior to the certification decision being made by ICCV. In some cases this may involve a further site inspection to confirm that this has been satisfactorily attended to.
For existing clients, periodic surveillance audits, re-certification audits and surprise audits are conducted which allows ICCV to continue to certify the client’s products, and allows ICCV to demonstrate its compliance with its internal standards, the requirements of external accreditation bodies, and the requirements of various overseas Halal regulatory bodies.
